Vision and Values

A community becoming champions through faith in Christ.

Having received a restored relationship with God through Christ we are chosen to take the message that God desires reuniting with people and has made a way which we can be forgiven and restored. “Go into the world. Go everywhere and announce the message of God’s good news to one and all. (Mark16:15)

To truly follow Christ requires embracing a life of faith living which is vital to us becoming the champions God wants us to be. At Champions church we will celebrate every story of God doing amazing feats amongst us as we step out in faith. ‘And without faith it is impossible to please God’. (Hebrews 11:6)

We know we will face challenges and trials in life but God desires us not to be defeated and downtrodden but instead to be overcomers, living victoriously over the challenges we face through our faith in Christ. ‘For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world’. (1 John 5:4)

Authentic Christ followers acknowledge Christ as sovereign in all areas of their lives. Through the Bible God speaks to us today and we should naturally want to please our heavenly Father. Jesus lived a life of seeking to always please the Father in all he did and so should we. (Philippians 2:1-30.)

We desire to always present the timeless and God breathed scriptures in ways and means which people can understand and apply to their 21st century lives. ‘All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness’.(2 Timothy 3:16)

We want to be a community who will honour ourselves, church members and the church we are part of, by practicing a positive confession of ourselves, each other and the name of Champions Church. In this way we build a very strong church community which builds ourselves up, our neighbours and our church.

Our heart is that all ages are represented at Champions Church and all are valued as being fully part of the church family. We also encourage each generation to grow in relationship with those of a different generation to themselves and that this brings a life and vitality to our church community.

At Champions church we value excellence as God deserves our very best. We know God gives the very best to us and so this should be expressed in our lives lived out in worship towards him. We are not looking for perfect people but rather a people looking to give God the very best they can give to him.

When we recognise God’s generosity towards us it compels us to respond by living lives of generosity towards God and humanity. Loving God and loving our neighbour as commanded by Christ is expressed in a practical generosity in our daily lives. ‘For God so loved the world that he gave’. (John 3:16)
